How to play GoUnique Daily

GoUnique Daily is a free geography game in your browser. Every day there is one mystery country and seven questions about it. It takes about three minutes, there is no account, and everyone in the world plays the same puzzle that day. A new one starts at 00:00 your local time.

The seven rounds

  1. Shape. Which country is this silhouette?
  2. Flag. Pick the country's flag out of four.
  3. Capital. Find its capital among four cities.
  4. Data. Compare it with similar places nearby by people, area or density: pick one, or put them in order.
  5. Twin. Which place in another part of the world is the closest match in size and people? Some days it's "real size" (how many times bigger?) or a population twin instead.
  6. Theme. A rotating round: which city is further north, its neighbours, where its people live, and more.
  7. Rank. Where does it rank in the world or on its continent by people, area or density?

Scoring and streaks

Each round is worth one point, so the best score is 7/7. Ordering rounds give half a point when you get part of the order right. Play on consecutive days to build a streak; if you miss one day in a week, your streak survives.

Share and challenge a friend

When you finish, share your result as a grid of coloured squares, which never gives away the country, or send a challenge link: your friend plays the same puzzle and sees whether they beat your score.

Where the numbers come from

The questions use the data in the GoUnique app: 256 countries and territories and the regions inside them, compared by people, area and density. Disputed territories are never used as answers.
